Roasted Chickpeas

Tired of salted peanuts? Spice up your snack bowls with these roasted chickpeas. Two different flavours: Mediterranean & Middle eastern. So simple and easy to make and great in nutritional values.

When you have a pre-dinner drink and you are already hungry,  thanks to the drink you additionally increase your appetite and you’re even more likely to empty the snack platter and nuts bowls before the meal has even started. These chickpeas are a healthy and filling alternatives to nuts which are incredibly healthy too but also high in calories. Especially during the holidays big family meals are a daily routine and we are automatically in a calory plus, a few tips and tricks (like these snacks) help you to avoid the annoying weigt gain after the holidays. 


Harissa & turmeric spiced roasted chickpeas

1 can cooked chickpeas

1 tsp ground cumin

1 tsp smoked paprika

1 tsp turmeric

1 tbsp harissa paste

2-3 gloves minced garlic

salt

pepper

olive oil

preheat oven to 200C degrees 

mix spices and oil

add chickpeas

mix until coated

spread on baking tray

roast for about 20-25min


rosemary and thyme spiced roasted chickpeas

1 can cooked chickpeas

1-2 bunch fresh chopped rosemary

fresh thyme

zest from 1/2 lemon

salt

pepper

olive oil

preheat oven to 200C degrees 

mix herbs with oil, salt and pepper

add chickpeas

mix until coated

spread on baking tray

roast for about 20-25min

Chickpeas are a good source for plant based protein. High in carbs and fiber as well as vitamins and minerals, iron and phosphorus. 

 

These roasted chickpeas also taste super yummy in soup, instead of croutons!
