chocolate protein smoothie bowl + coconut crunch granola

Looks like a dessert, tastes like it but way healthier than your usual chocolate ice cream. It wins with its healthy fats from avocado, seeds and nuts, complex carbs and fiber from oats and banana, and protein provided by peanut butter and protein powder. 

For my fit people out there, this bowl is awesome for a pre- and post-workout snack or meal. It fuels your cells with all needed nutrients. Lots of potassium in banana and avocado make sure your muscle functions and bone health are on point. Protein aids your muscle synthesis and fats are necessary for hormone balance.

1/2 frozen banana

1/2 avocado ripe

1 heaped teaspoon raw cocoa powder

1 scoop chocolate protein (optional)

50ml nut milk

1 pinch of sea salt

blend everything in a food processor on high speed until combined 

pour into a bowl 

top with granola, nut butter, chia seeds, banana or fresh mango chunks 

Gluten free coconut crunch granola 


2 cups (180g) rolled oats (gluten free option)

1/2 cup (40g) unsweetened shredded coconut

1/2 cup (50g) raw cashew nuts

1/2 cup (50g) raw pecan or walnut halves

3 Tbsp coconut oil

1/4 cup (85g) honey

1/2 cup dried mulberries (or any other kind of dried fruit)

Preheat oven to 180°C

add all dry ingredients into a bowl

add honey and coconut oil  into a small saucepan and place on stove over medium heat and stir until melted 

pour over dry ingredients and combine until everything is coated 

spread out on a baking tray and bake for 20min

let cool

add dried fruits 

The recipe serves 1 bowl.. however, it is quite filling and rich so you can divide it into two smaller cups or bowls and share :)
